Western Union plans to launch its Solana-based, U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin USDPT next month as part of a broader crypto plan. CEO and President Devin McGranahan said the token is in the final stages of preparation.

The company said USDPT will initially be used in select countries with key partners as an alternative to SWIFT for settlements with agents.
